Each month, an roughly 30 million people visit Glassdoor*. Have you ever wondered what they’re looking for? Or what companies they’re looking up? If you knew the answer, what would you do with that information?
Here at Glassdoor, we think about that all the time, which is why we built Glassdoor Trends which highlights organizations that have been highly frequented on Glassdoor all month. This month, we’re taking a deeper look at one of February’s most trafficked companies, Veritiv, to provide some insights into why it might be third on Company Trends on our U.S. list.
Veritiv is a leading North American business-to-business distributor of print, publishing, packaging, facility and logistics solutions. With a 2.6 Glassdoor rating, Veritiv is an engaged Glassdoor employer that has 262 jobs listed on its Glassdoor profile.
Why is Veritiv trending?
While companies can trend on Glassdoor for many reasons, a quick Google search on Veritiv uncovers a few key initiatives that may explain its trending status. Last fall, Veritiv named Adam Taylor as its new chief strategy officer and Dave Hudson as its new chief information officer. These two key hires to Veritiv’s senior management team will likely help Veritiv grow and expand. Additionally, in late October, a New York Times spotlight came out with Veritiv’s CEO, Mary Laschinger, about leadership, hiring and company culture.
Change is coming
Most notably, Veritiv announced in January it’s making the shift to Earth Pact Sugar Cane Paperboard, a “material made from 100 percent pure sugar cane bagasse, an agricultural byproduct of sugar manufacturing.” Similarly, Veritiv announced in early February it has recently “become a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), a North American association of colleges and universities working to create a sustainable world.”
Both of these shifts show the world that Veritiv is environmentally conscious and is “at the cutting edge of today’s technology for sustainable packaging.”
