The 10 Must-Read Articles for Recruiters This Week

As companies have become increasingly comfortable with employees working from home, another evolution in how we work may be on the horizon in the form of flexibility. After all, if many employees don’t need to be in a physical office to be productive, they may not need to be on the clock Monday through Friday during traditional working hours either.

At the top of our list of must-read articles for talent professionals, you’ll spot a report from the BBC outlining what flexible work could look like. Although we’ve heard some of these ideas before, including a four-day workweek and a “3-2-2” approach (three days in the office, two days remote, and two days off), companies may have a newfound openness to experimenting with an array of flexible options.

And speaking of remote work, our list below also highlights how it’s been an unexpected opportunity for transgender employees and why some people have created fake commutes even when there’s no office to go to. No word yet if the latter involves re-creating the cramped and crowded conditions of subways and buses around the world, but one worker did report excitement in encountering — and avoiding — a traffic jam. “I thrived in that,” he tells The Wall Street Journal. “It was the weirdest thing ever.”
