CodeSignal Launches New Technical Assessment Solution, Certify

Last Updated: December 16, 2021

CodeSignal, a technical assessment platform dedicated to helping companies #GoBeyondResumes in tech recruiting, announced today the official launch of its new coding assessment solution, Certify. Previously, Certify was available only to select customers and is now available for widespread use following a rigorous trial period by a select group of users who have had tremendous success using the solution over the past few months.

Certify is the first technical assessment product that can be used at the very top of the hiring funnel allowing talent acquisition professionals and engineering managers to request and compare unbiased and easy-to-understand assessment results at scale to make data-driven hiring decisions. “This is an exciting time for CodeSignal and the industry as Certify will allow talent acquisition professionals and engineering leaders to confidently go beyond resumes,” said Tigran Sloyan, Co-Founder and CEO of CodeSignalOpens a new window . “The future of resumes, recruiting and interviewing are changing at a rapid pace and this brings us one step closer to a world in which talent is not evaluated based on unreliable proxies. The traditional hiring process involves the screening of resumes by keywords, but that method cannot truly recognize the ability or potential of a candidate, and Certify is created to solve that problem for software engineers”

The official launch of Certify includes robust enhancements with a focus on enterprise clients, including Applicant Tracking System (ATS) integrations with most popular ATS providers, automated virtual proctoring functionality to eliminate false positives, an API for sending and receiving certified assessments programmatically and Single Sign On (SSO) features that support all standard SSO protocols. Certify goes beyond the industry standards in recruitment with results that are trusted. With advanced image recognition-based ID verification, automated virtual proctoring, advanced plagiarism checking and a framework-based approach to assessment design, talent acquisition managers can rest assured that cheating on Certify is practically impossible. As in many mature assessment spaces, such as foreign language, different levels of proficiency are defined based on in-depth research to ensure assessment tests are precisely designed and created to accurately measure skills to identify test takers’ proficiency levels. Certify establishes a new industry leading standard for proficiency for computer programming skills.

“Before Certify, most assessment products, including ours, have been primarily utilized after a resume review to save the engineering team time spent interviewing unqualified candidates” said Sloyan. “With Certify, you can not only save recruiting and engineering time spent with unqualified candidates, but most importantly you can finally confidently put your technical assessments at the top of the funnel without worrying about false positives and find those diamonds in the rough that consistently go overlooked in most hiring processes.”
