Which Glassdoor Profile Is Right for Your Company?

So you know that you want to engage with talent on Glassdoor - good choice! Over 67 million job seekers visit Glassdoor's mobile applications and website per month, and because they've taken the time to educate themselves on a company before applying, they tend to be a better fit and stay longer once hired. In fact, Glassdoor candidates are 2x more likely to be hired. But with so many employers competing for their attention, how can your company stand out?

Signing up for a Glassdoor profile is a great first start. It allows you to showcase your culture, values and the benefits of working at your company. And make no mistake - candidates are actively looking for this information! 89 percent of Glassdoor users find the employer perspective important when researching which company to work for. As a result, 79 percent of users are more likely to apply to an open job if the employer is active on Glassdoor.

We know, however, that talent acquisition solutions are not one size fits all. Depending on your company's budget, size and recruiting goals, you'll have a unique set of needs and challenges. That's why Glassdoor's employer branding products offer several different profile options. Here, we'll walk through the different options available to you, discussing the features and benefits of each. Read on to learn more!

Free Employer Account

At Glassdoor, we believe that greater transparency helps candidates find the right jobs, and recruiters find the right candidates. That's why all employers have the option to claim a Free Employer Account, or FEA. With an FEA, you can update your basic company information - things like your company size, website and the name of your CEO. In addition, you can (and are encouraged to!) respond to reviews. Given that nearly 7 in 10 Glassdoor users agree that their perception of a company improves after seeing them respond to a review, this should be a key tactic in your Glassdoor strategy. You also gain visibility into how many folks are visiting your profile. And finally, you have the opportunity to provide a preview of what it's like to your company by uploading photos and sharing company updates. Keep in mind, that other companies can advertise jobs on your page and access to analytics is limited with the Free Employer Account.

Starter Profile

Glassdoor's Starter profile is perfect for those who are ready to upgrade from the FEA. It has all the same functionalities as the FEA with some more advanced capabilities. For example, a Starter profile allows you to customize your profile with branded content such as cover photos, videos, links to social channels and a 'Why Work for Us' section. Besides your profile, some of this content and information from your profile will appear in your sponsored job descriptions. Glassdoor research has found that candidates are almost twice as likely to apply when a job highlights an employer's branded content, so take advantage of those features! You'll also gain more advanced insights into who is visiting your profile, what actions they're taking, the performance of your jobs and more. And if you see a great review that perfectly reflects what it's like to work at your company, you can select it to be a featured review, which displays it prominently on your 'Overview' page as well as your 'Reviews' page.

Standard Profile

Are you directly competing with another organization to attract top talent? Then Glassdoor's Standard profile could be perfect for you. The Standard profile, in addition to offering everything that the Starter profile does, has several components that help you gain an edge over the competition. For one, a Standard profile allows you to promote jobs on up to five different competitors' profiles, while also ensuring that competitors' jobs never appear on your own profile. As a bonus, your jobs will appear on every page of your profile, rather than just the 'Jobs' page. Finally, in addition to all of the rich insights you'll have into your own audience's behavior, you also gain access to information on up to three competitors' employee reviews and interview reviews.

Select Profile

Glassdoor's Select profile offers the most robust and comprehensive employer branding experience. Beyond providing all of the same benefits as the Standard profile, the Select profile's features will further help you stand out among the competition and find the right candidates. To start, you will be allowed to promote your open jobs on up to ten different competitors' profiles. You'll also receive industry benchmark reports to help you gauge the performance of your profile and jobs. And audience targeting will allow you to customize your profile and sponsored jobs for up to four different audiences (such as sales, software engineers, finance and human resources). Lastly, the Jobs Spotlight lets you create a custom ad that advertises your open roles to your target audiences and markets across the site.

Each employer is unique in their own way, but no matter what kind of company culture, recruiting goals and processes you have, Glassdoor has a solution for you. Want to know more? Visit our product pages for additional information on job ad and employer branding solutions.
