A solid stance on Diversity & Inclusion is the foundation of many successful companies.

Sharing those messages through video is becoming a popular trend. Our CEO, Rob Kelly wrote about 5 of the Best Diversity And Inclusion Videos in 2019, but with diversity taking center stage due to the recent Black Lives Matter movement, we wanted to find a few more.

The Best Videos on Diversity

This top 10+ list of videos on diversity is in alphabetical order. What makes these diversity and inclusion videos stand out? They have at least 1 of the following:

  • A powerful message
  • Laughable moments
  • Interesting animations
  • Real people, with real stories
  • Diversity data
  • Inspiring music choices

Each video is different, but they all have the same message…seeing everyone as equal regardless of their differences and supporting an inclusive workplace.

Best Buy Diversity & Inclusion

Best Buy’s Diversity & Inclusion video shows a series of clips with real employees discussing how they feel included in their work environment. Best Buy does a great job of showing progress, but also room for improvement to create a fully diverse, and inclusive atmosphere. The music is captivating, but so is the closing message, “Let’s talk about what’s possible.”

Caterpillar Inc. Inclusion at Work

Caterpillar’s inclusion and diversity video features 12 employees candidly discussing their inclusion journeys at work. The video is simple, but has a powerful message of growth, boldness, change, and making employees feel included regardless of their race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or other differences.

Deloitte Respect & Inclusion

Deloitte’s Respect & Inclusion video uses powerful music and even more powerful visual messages to highlight exactly how people can be different, but still work together. Deloitte’s diversity video is spot on with their message and poses the question, “You respect others for the value they can bring, don’t you?” This video shows written phrases like “I am Black” and “I’m just like you…Actually, I’m Not” along with real people to address the long list of biases (race, age, disability, gender, sexuality, and affinity) that are sometimes present in the workplace.

Expedia Inclusion & Diversity

Expedia celebrates differences. Expedia’s Inclusion & Diversity video has a strong message, “Everybody Always Everywhere” This video focuses on letting employees do their best work no matter their “identity groups”. Expedia’s diversity video shows that the company welcomes people of all backgrounds without bias.

GE Proud of My Pride

GE’s diversity video about allyship shares a real story of a true LGBTQ ally at work. Karen Delvecchio, “Ally of the Year” shares her story behind “her drive to be a better ally, advocate, and sponsor, and the importance of allyship in the workplace.”

Kelly Services A Fair-er Future of Work

Kelly Service’s diversity video creates a picture of unfairness in the workforce starting with childhood dreams. The video starts with a teacher asking her class “What do we all want to be when we grow up?”. One child shouts outs “a teacher like you” and she kindly explains that only 2% of teachers are Black men so his chances aren’t high. The video continues with other unfair experiences based on gender, former felony records, etc. Kelly’s goal is to create equity at work for all.

Linkedin Talent Solutions Building Diverse Teams

This video from Linkedin Talent Solutions shows real people explaining their experience when applying or interviewing for jobs. Two women of color talk about walking into an interview and the hiring manager saying “you are not what I expected” or “oh, you don’t look how you sound.” This diversity video addresses not only race and age bias but highlights how your name can affect your chances of getting an interview. Linked Talent Solutions’ message here is to hire the best person for the job, not because they check certain boxes.

Netflix Culture

This is one of the top cultural diversity videos we found. Netflix’s diversity video uses colorful backdrops and serious (and sometimes funny) stories from employees who believe in the importance of diversity. This diversity video addresses bias related to age, sexuality, gender, and nationality. Netflix’s message is to promote “allyship” between groups to form a strong working bond. “We can all be allies” is a powerful and memorable message.

Pixar’s Diversity Short Film

Pixar’s short film featuring Purl, a ball of yarn who doesn’t fit the mold at B.R.O. Capital teaches a great lesson in diversity. Purl feels left out from day one and tries to change who she is to “be one of the guys”, something that happens in many male-dominated companies. This short film has its laughable moments but its end message is powerful, which is welcoming people who are different allows for a more inclusive and diverse workforce. Although this video on diversity is a bit longer than the rest, the imagery and humor will keep your attention, it is definitely one of the most funny diversity videos we found.

RBC Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

RBC’s diversity video depicts uncomfortable situations that happen in the workplace. This video uses the phrase “that little voice” as a way to show how people from different cultures and backgrounds often feel like an outsider. RBC’s message is for people to find their voice and make it heard. The powerful ending to the video asks people to speak up for diversity, fairness, understanding, equality, acceptance, belonging, and inclusion.

Salesforce Commitment to Equality

Salesforce’s inclusion video shines a light on the many biases that are present in the workplace. The title of this diversity video is powerful, “We’re Stronger as Us. We’re Stronger as Allies,” and shows a wide variety of people telling their stories, using strong music and close up shots. Real people will relate to these real stories.

Skanska Diversity

Skanska’s diversity video is short, but it shows a diverse group of people from different backgrounds. The overall message is “I am Skanska”, “We are Skanska”. Skanska’s caption for this diversity video is “We are mothers. We are brothers. We are explorers. We are happy. We are sad. We are proud. We are creative. We are people. We care. We are Skanska. Join us.” This message resonates with everyone and promotes inclusivity.

Diversity Videos Make a Statement

Diversity videos are powerful. Companies who use real stories, real people, strong visuals, and memorable music to show their stance on diversity will be more likely to have an impact on potential candidates and current employees.  We recently wrote about 5 Impressive Diversity Pages (and Why!). Many of these diversity pages include videos that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
