Stories of thanks from team members of Stories Inc.

Reading Time: 7 minutes

Not only do we capture stories of thanks from team members at our clients’ organizations, we also love gratitude-fueled stories from our own team!

The Stories Inc. team members are a thankful crew, and they’re skilled storytellers. Together, we have been through a lot in this year of COVID-19. In 2020, we may have seen each other most frequently via webcam or while wearing the accessory du jour—the ubiquitous face mask. However, the appreciation and love we feel for each other only grew as instances of in-person meetings shrank.

So, what do you do when you’re bursting with feelings of thanksgiving for your fellow employees, but pandemic safety requires you refrain from parties, handshakes, and hugs? You use your words! Here are our stories of thanks.

Thankful for resilience and adaptability

“I’m thankful for the Stories Inc. team for having the resilience and adaptability to help the company not just keep going despite a global pandemic, but to also create additional ways to serve our clients. I’m also thankful for our clients who continue giving us the opportunity to do what we do best, and for 8 years (and counting!) of great partnership with Lauryn Sargent. Happy Thanksgiving!” — Scott

Thankful for innovation, trust and fantastic work

“I’m thankful for everyone who stuck by and supported us through this wild and uncertain year. The Stories Inc. team, who created fantastic work even as their lives were changing, and innovating all the while as we launched our new service. Our clients, who trusted us and believed in us enough to try something new when it wasn’t possible to complete the work in the way we had sold it. And our partners: business owners and sales leaders who I could commiserate with, but still build and brainstorm with. I’m also very grateful to have Scott as a business partner in all times, but especially times like these, where perspective, balance and brains could move us through whatever is thrown our way… and make us a stronger company as a result. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!” — Lauryn

Thankful for keeping us all safe and working

“This year has been a giant bag of awful. But seeing how Stories has adapted to keep everyone safe including our clients has been really gratifying. Knowing the team has been together in this has helped a great deal even if I haven’t been able to see anyone in person ever. From smooshie care to pandemic working, I’m so grateful for my Stories fam. Don’t know many places that would be so nimble to adapt their business model let alone work to keep us all safe and working.” — Jamie

Thankful for a four-day work week

“This year has been so challenging in so many ways, but a bright spot for me has been the support of our entire team at Stories Inc. From completely changing the way we produce content, to finding creative ways to stay connected, the team didn’t miss a beat. I’m most grateful to Scott and Lauryn for moving us to a four-day work week so that we all have a chance to rest and recharge each week. It’s been a wellness savior this year!” — Jill

Thankful for support while managing kids and distance learning

“I’m so thankful to work with people who have been incredibly patient and understanding as I’ve wrangled three kids’ distance learning this year! Every single Stories Inc. team member has shown me support! Quick story: Christian, in his free time after hours, edited my daughter’s middle school’s online graduation video (no small feat, with hundreds of students at this big public school!) since the kids couldn’t have an in-person ceremony. And I have about 20 other stories like this from all of the Stories Inc. team members!” — Jessica

Thankful for joining and feeling part of the team during a pandemic

“There’s really been no shortage of things to complain about when it comes to 2020, and that makes me all the more thankful to have been hired by such a great company and onboarded in the middle of a pandemic.  Despite the fact I work out of my apartment about 1,000 miles away from my nearest coworker, I feel welcomed and included by everyone. A special shoutout to Lauryn and Jessica, whose adept marketing minds have made my sales life all the easier. Most will remember 2020 as the year we all lost our minds, but I’ll always remember it as the year I found a cool job.” — Peter

Thankful for collaborative and thoughtful team

“I’m thankful to be on a team of so many thoughtful and creative individuals. The team has pulled together to help make our transition into full-time remote work and remote story capturing not only as smooth as possible, but also as collaborative as possible. Through these tough times, we’ve been able to keep supporting our clients with quality content and really build out a new set of remote offerings that our whole team helped to develop. I’m really thankful to be a part of such an adaptable and collaborative team.” — Christian

Thankful for pivoting to continue uncovering stories

“Happy Thanksgiving! I’m so grateful to continue to do this work through a pandemic. At first, there were so many questions. How would working from home go? Would we all be okay? The answers to all of those questions are better than I would’ve anticipated. I’m so thankful to Stories Inc. and our clients. We pivoted so quickly and were able to continue uncovering stories and creating content, even during this tough time. I’m so fortunate to work on this team and do this work!” — Anna
