Better-Than-Expected Job Growth in June, BLS Report Shows

After disappointing job growth in May, the U.S. economy got a much-needed boost in June, adding 287,000 jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ most recent employment report – and far surpassing economists’ expectations of between 175,000 and 180,000 jobs. These numbers are also a giant leap from May’s dismal job numbers, which the BLS originally reported as 38,000 jobs and revised to an even more gloomy 11,000 jobs.
