Each year, we join our clients in celebrating International Credit Union Day. We’re grateful for their business and for the many ways they contribute to the welfare of our communities.

This year’s theme of Inspiring Hope for a Global Community beautifully captures the spirit of the credit union industry, most notably during this global pandemic. With so many unknowns touching different aspects of our lives, credit unions offer financial stability and a place where members are known. This is the sort of positivity that can spark a brighter future.

Here are just a few ways our Credit Union clients are making a difference in their communities.

Wings Financial Credit Union partners with Urban Ventures to assist with immediate food needs and relief for small businesses impacted by the recent unrest in Minneapolis. Wings has a long-term commitment to education, strengthening families, and building a healthy community.

Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union was founded by educators, and they are committed to helping them succeed in the classroom. Each year MSGCU offers Classroom Cash Grants to teachers to enhance their students’ learning experience through innovative classroom projects.

Notre Dame Federal Credit Union partners with a wide variety schools, parishes, and other non-profit organizations throughout the country, such as Clothe A Child that provides clothing and shoes for under resourced children and infants.

Windsor Family Credit Union’s Inspire program combines existing community investment initiatives with events that help bring people together as a community, such as free movie nights, volunteerism, and partnering with organizations to support scholarship and youth literacy programs.

PenFinancial Credit Union, in keeping with their theme of a Truly Local Commitment, supports local initiates such as Socks for Change to provide warm, quality socks and winter accessories to charities, shelters, and schools in their community.

Vystar Credit Union supports their community through multiple programs and partnerships, including March of Dimes, United Way, and YMCA to support military families. They are also sponsoring free pet adoptions to help celebrate this year’s International Credit Union Day!

To all of our credit union clients, thank you for all you do to make the world a better place! May your commitment to service inspire us all to do what we can to improve the quality of life for our communities and neighbors.
