Remote Work, The New Normal

“There is no workplace like home”

COVID-19 has become an accelerator for one of the greatest workplace transformations in our lifetime. It has disrupted organizations, workplace environment and company culture. As COVID-19 spreads across the globe, remote work is the new normal. Remote work is known as the ability to work from anywhere and at any time. In nearly every industry, employers and employees both benefit from the advantages of remote work.

Search Solution Group has 18 years of experience and expertise in working with and managing remote teams, particularly within our Staffing division. This division specializes in finding flexible staffing solutions for our clients. We have hired temporary employees and contractors in multiple locations across the country such as Miami, San Francisco, and Houston.

Over the past 4 weeks, part of our leadership team including Dave Holtzman, Ashley Goldberg, Josh Mensinger, and Jeremy Gnozzo have had multiple calls with HR Leaders across the country. These calls have been centered around partnering with our clients to help develop and implement remote workforce plans. Since March, we have helped over 127 different companies establish remote workforce plans.

Benefits

Increased Flexibility & Autonomy: Allowing your employees the ability to work from home gives them flexibility to operate in a way that best suits them. At home they have more control and self-direction. 54% of employees say they would change jobs for one that offered them more flexibility, which results in an average of 12% turnover reduction after a remote work agreement is offered.

Impact on Job Market: You have access to a wider pool of applicants outside of your normal geographical area. This allows you to hire outside of normal commuting distance and can pull talent from areas across the country or world.

Work-life Balance: The ability to balance these two worlds has become the key to feeling happier and being more productive while working. Without having a daily commute, employees are able to add this time back into their daily lives.

Increased Productivity: Working from home typically leads to fewer distractions. Remote workers are an average of 35-40% more productive than their office counterparts and have measured an output increase of at least 4.4%.

Lower Costs: Having a remote workforce will ultimately save employers time and money. Not only will companies not have a mortgage or lease payment for office space, but they also will not be paying for standard overhead costs such as electricity, utilities, office furniture and décor, etc.

Candidate interviewing, as we know it, will also change. The process will become virtual, thus cutting down on travel, food, and lodging expenses.

The New Norm

There is still uncertainty about how the workplace will be when we return to work, if we return to work. Employers and employees have had the flexibility and freedom of remote work for a handful of months; will they want to give that up?

At Search Solution Group, we are here to collaborate with employers to find the best talent solution.

Do you think remote work is the future?
