What I Learned Writing 1000 Jobs: New Job Post Training

Confession. So I did this blog post about what I learned writing 60 job postings in 60 days. This catchy title didn’t capture what happened when I told over 1,000 people I’d write a job post for free.

See, when you tell people you’ll do work for free – do you know what they do? Say yes. That’s precisely what happened. But not for 60 people. Hell, it wasn’t 200 either. It was over 600 responses in a matter of minutes.

My inbox, and mind, were blown.

When I was a kid, my Mom always told me that “your word is your word.” With that said, you know what I did next. I met the hiring teams and wrote every single one of the postings. For 30 minutes, we did the intake, and then I went off and wrote. That’s where the live job post rewrites were born.

I don’t tell you that to get some round of applause or accolade. Full transparency, that was not my smartest move. When you spend all your time doing work for free, you’re not getting paid work. But it did inform my style, tactics, and approach. I quickly figured out what works. So I started to write a book.

Yes, a book about job postings.

I know, no one wants to read that shit. I mean, really. Who goes looking for a book on job postings? No, not me either. You don’t need a manual.

It would help if you had an expert who has been there and done that to answer your one-off questions and show you their templates. A place where you can answer questions you didn’t know you needed to ask. It would help if you also had something you don’t have to dust off or find in your drawers every time you write a job posting – which is plentiful throughout your careers.

I made that.

I’m almost three years into Three Ears Media and at this point, I get it. I’ve taught everyone from Fortune 500 teams to national franchises and neighborhood shops how to write, and now I’m giving you my templates and teachings to access whenever you need them.

I know what it take to teach people how to write a better job posting. Specifically that you don’t need 6, 1-hour webinars to get this done. That’s why this job post training is bite-sized and self-guided. You can grab what you need and go.

New: Job Post Training

Want a template for bullets? We have 20 of them.

Need a sales job posting? There’s one of those too.

EEO statements? I have 30 options.

Bonus: this library won’t stop growing. As I identify new lessons you need and frequently asked questions, I’ll add content and templates. So whether you’re writing jobs now or rewriting your own to figure out what you want to do next, this course will help you throughout your career.

And no, I won’t charge you some annual subscription or an upgrade fee. That’s not how I roll. I don’t want to do something that’s one and done or complicated.

Job postings are bad enough without any complicated courses and annual renewals.

If you’ve read this far down, I want to pause here and thank you. Thank you for supporting me along the way and laughing at my dumb jokes about hot jobs and Sir-Mix-A-Lot.

But mostly for seeing me, valuing humanity in job postings, and knowing just how much a post matters to a candidate who wants to dream. No matter where you are in your life, if you’re willing to change it all and admit you need more? I want the job posting to meet you there. To help you imagine a different life.

Let me teach you how.
