It’s All In The Family For This Growing Chicagoland Staffing Firm

Staffing Talk

It is accurate to say that Accurate Temps CEO Jaimie Rios (nee Migliore), and a brother Rob who is COO, and another brother David who is president, have been good stewards of the company their parents Debbie and Tony Migliore began back in 1978. It is also a wild understatement, given the growth the siblings have generated after taking over. The growth continues with a recent expansion of their market reach into Professional Staffing, as well as their geographical reach.

Celebrate National Unfriend Day By Cleaning Up Your Facebook Friend List

Staffing Talk

Today is National Unfriend Day for Facebook. Started by Jimmy Kimmel, it’s a half-serious mission to cull your Facebook list. As I said, it’s half-serious, but probably a good idea for those of you who use Facebook for business. While I realize many professionals have already made a dichotomy between their LinkedIn contacts and their Facebook contacts, I know a lot of salespeople who have had great results with Facebook, and it’s obviously a great tool for business connections, if used properly.

Don’t Block My Social Media Access!

Staffing Talk

Ok, I admit it. Several times a day I check LinkedIn to find out who is checking up on me. I might watch a You Tube video or two if my mind is really wandering. There are definitely going to be a couple of tweets and re-tweets. And I culled my Facebook friend list as Jeff Reeder suggested while doing research for this post. Time suck? Sure. Does it make me happier AND MORE PRODUCTIVE?!

How to Create Your Own Facebook Job Board

Staffing Talk

Yesterday I posted about how an 11-year-old kid started his own software company and how with almost zero money you can use mature web tools to threaten Monster’s business model. Well here’s a little post that shows you how to take both of those memes and make them your own. There’s a little programming here, so if you’re not the type to deal with the usual crap of debugging and hacking your way through APIs and poor documentation, well then you’re better off giving this job to your teenager.

Three Killer LinkedIn Myths

Staffing Talk

Myth #1: LinkedIn Will Find You a Job. You’ve heard how you should use your network to find a job and how LinkedIn makes that easy, but making LinkedIn a cornerstone is a major mistake. Yes the tools are nice. It’s easy to get your name out there with it. But employers have had it up to their ears with spammy LinkedIn requests, and the amount of garbage emanating from the site risks putting you in a category of desperate.

Bustin Bieber and Other Ideas for Your Staffing Business

Staffing Talk

As a proud parent of a sixth grader myself I was in awe of this kid, not so much because he develops software (heck mine been doing it since first grade), but because of his calm, fun and bien-dans-sa-peau way of presenting – the exact opposite of the prototypical megalomaniac TED presenter. I’d hire him in a second, not to program, but to head up some marketing effort.
