Facebook Named #1 Best Place to Work in Glassdoor's 10th Annual Employees' Choice Awards

The question is often asked: What makes an amazing place to work?  While there’s no one definitive answer, it certainly doesn’t hurt if you have over a quarter of the world’s population using your product, stellar leadership, a top-notch culture and meaningful, exciting work for employees. These are just a few reasons that Facebook scored the #1 spot on Glassdoor’s tenth annual Employees’ Choice Awards, honoring the Best Places to Work in 2018. This marks Facebook’s third time clinching top honors, and their eighth consecutive time on the list overall.

With a company rating of 4.6, Facebook employees are especially appreciative of working with smart and innovative colleagues; unique career opportunities, including the ability to grow in a team, transfer to a new one or even work in different offices/locations; a mission to "Give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together"; and transparent management, which clearly lays out the company’s plan, goals and vision — employees can even join CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other senior leaders for a weekly Q&A.

And of course, Facebook is legendary for its perks. Free meals and snacks, onsite health and dental centers, laundry services and four months of paid parental leave are among some of their most notable benefits. These perks aren’t just hyped-up offerings that nobody actually takes advantage of, either – Facebook confirms that Zuckerberg himself is on parental leave the entire month of December.

While Facebook takes home the top honor this year, Glassdoor has recognized a total of 100 companies in our 2018 Best Places to Work list for U.S. Large Employers (defined as more than 1,000 employees), up from 50 in years past. Beyond that, we’ve also compiled Best Places to Work Lists for U.S. Small & Medium Companies (fewer than 1,000 employees), the UK, Canada, France and Germany.*
