Tools to Help Find & Verify Corporate Emails

This post was inspired by Holly Mallowes’ presentation at SourceCon, and aims to delve deeper into her suggestion for finding and verifying corporate emails. In some industries, the most effective way to reach a lead is through their corporate email, but what do you do when you can’t find it? There are several options for finding and guessing someone’s email layout. Below, I will recommend using a few tools that can suggest and find different email patterns.

Here’s how to find and verify corporate email addresses:

  1. Email permutator – offers a variety of email layout suggestions.
  2. Snov.io – I’ve had success using this extension at guessing the email layout.
  3. Hunter – Another great extension that works fairly well.
  4. Toofr – It suggestions combinations and also verifies them.
  5. Email-format.com – offers a variety of email layout suggestions.

Maybe these tools still don’t work. I’ve included alternative manuals way to find someone’s email pattern using a search engine:

  1. Try using the wildcard symbol i.e: “*@dell.com”
  2. Maybe you have a bulk list of companies that you are targeting:
    1. (“*@ADP.com” OR “*@pb.com” PR “*@yellowbook.com” OR “*@livingsocial.com”)
  3. You can also try different combination patterns:
    1. name (“email” OR “email address” OR “email me at” OR “my email”)
    2. name (“contact” OR “contact information” OR “contact me”)
    3. site:company.com name
    4. site:company.com name contact

After you have guessed the email layout, it’s now time to test that email. There’s verifying tools that ping mail server and checks to see if the email exists or not. Most tools offer free single verifications but charge a fee for bulk list verifications. Below are my 11 websites to verify an email address:

Recommended for Single use:

  1. MailTester – Most sourcers recommend using this one.
  2. Email-Checker – Email Checker is a simple little tool for verifying an email address. It’s free and quite easy to use. Just enter the email address and hit the check button.
  3. Hunter.io – Verify the validity of any email address with the most complete email checker.
  4. Snov.io extension – My favorite extension that finds and suggests corporate emails.
  5. Aeroleads.com – Helps you to find an email address and build an email list in real-time for your business.
  6. Findthat.email – Find the email address of professionals in millions of companies worldwide.

Recommended for Bulk Lists (Most are paid options):

  1. Verify-email.org – This email verification tool actually connects to the mail server and checks whether the mailbox exists or not.
  2. Findthatlead.com – Emails verified in seconds Take the guesswork out of bounced emails and have our advanced algorithm quickly verify an email.
  3. Emaillistverify.com – Get rid of spam traps, hard bounces, disposable or catch-all emails without breaking your budget.
  4. Voilanorbert.com – When emails are sent to invalid email addresses, they bounce. The more you bounce, the lower your sender score will drop. You’ll be trapped by spam filters and eventually blacklisted. Norbert makes sure every email you send, reaches a real person. This will increase your deliverability, open rate and revenue.

Remember Rapportive? It was a cross-referencing tool that connected email addresses with LinkedIn profiles? I have a list of over 20 tools and extensions that offer that same feature (here).

Unfortunately, there is no one tool that can do it all. You will have to play around with these until you find the best option for finding and verifying email addresses. If you still can’t figure out the email pattern, just contact me and I’ll take a look.
