Recruiting on social media platforms is essential if you want to land those hard to find candidates. The biggest social network of them all is Facebook. With over 2.3 million users, if you aren’t tapping into this platform, you are missing a ton of potential connections. So how exactly are you supposed to recruit on Facebook? Check out our list of the top 10 recruiting tools to source on Facebook.

Browser Extensions:

The best part of a platform of over 2 million users? Search the platform for what you are looking for! Here are two of our favorite options for searching on Facebook.

1. AFS – Unfortunately this tool shut down in 2019

Is a great tool and is free to download on Chrome – . With tool you can search Facebook user profiles for information like current company and location.

2. Intelligence Search

Is another free Chrome app but this one is more focused on recruiting. Use the tool to look through Facebook by job, location and groups they are a part of.

Web Scrapers:

Scrapers are effective in pulling a ton of information from a website and allowing you to download it to a spreadsheet. Use it by going to a Facebook page (personal or group) and quickly downloading all the information available.

3. ZAPinfo

This scraper is formerly known as WebClipDrop  is an awesome tool to extract data from several websites. It’s an all in one system that is an all in one solution to making your job easier. This app works well with other programs, like your ATS and works on any site you can imagine.

4. Facebook Tool Kit – The desktop tool is still available

This extension by PlugEx has both free and unpaid options. For the extraction you are likely looking for as a recruiter, you will want to invest in the paid options to extract emails from friends and groups. To gain a license, there is an annual $14 fee.

5. Dig Scraper Extension Unfortunately this tool shut down in 2019

This is a relatively new extension and shows a ton of promise. In addition to Facebook, you can use it on LinkedIn. Check out my full review (here).

Contact Finding Tools:

6. SignalHire

Use SignalHire to find emails, phone numbers and more on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. According to SignalHire’s website their quality of emails and phone numbers are unsurpassed by any other tool. Not only can you use this tool to locate contact information, you can sync it to your CRM too and track open rates.

7. Hiretual

This tool has a ton of amazing features for recruiters. While there are some free options, the paid version is worth the price. It’s features include AI, Market Intelligence, Web Fusion, Smart Pipeline, Engagement, and Integrations. If you are looking for more than just a contact finder, Hiretual is your best bet.

8. Lusha

Lusha boasts that their email and phone number data is totally reliable. This extension takes it a step further and allows you to set up an automatic contact with emails you locate. The free version will get you limited emails, but only provides phone numbers for the first month. Paid plans start at $75 a month if billed annually.

9. SeekOut

SeekOut claims to be “Your Unfair Sourcing Advantage” and does have some great online reviews. Emails are verified to save you the wasted time of emailing them at an email that hasn’t been used in years. On their website, it is mentioned that they have a database of over 100 million US professionals. While SeekOut is amazing, it has a price tag to reflect everything you are getting. Pricing starts at $99 a month, but for all the features you will be paying $499 a month.

Extra Bonus:

10. Search Operators

We had to include this resource as well, it is not a tool but still a great resource! Use it to help you with your search on Facebook, whether you are looking for a candidate who can speak a specific language or their employment history. One specific option you should look into is the Facebook Graph Search Generator.

Update (March 01/19)

Facebook now defaults phone number search to “everyone.” Unless you change this setting, anyone with your phone number can look up and confirm your Facebook profile. You can now cross-reference someone’s personal cell number with an active Facebook profile.

Extensions can make your recruiting 10 times more effective. Try starting out with one option and then add more to see where you can take your recruiting efforts. New extensions are constantly being developed and improved, so we will do our best to keep the WizardSourcer community up to date!
