Giving Feels Good: Free LinkedIn Profile Rewrite

Streaming services love to repeat commercials, and they get stuck in my head. Recently, I saw an ad for a new show about a young entrepreneur and her two friends. There’s a clip where she says excitedly, “I’m the boss.” Then she repeats herself with a load of regret and sadness in her voice. Again, “I’m the boss.”

Whenever someone asks me what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur, I catch myself quoting the commercial. Being your own boss is a constant seesaw between empowerment and panic, especially for the first year. Then, even when everything is seemingly going right.

Add in a pandemic and everything seemingly going awry? It feels like you’re breathing through a straw most days, even when you aren’t wearing a mask.

I’m still the boss. Good days, bad days, despair, or dance party, I decide what all of this looks like. I don’t have to ask permission to create a new online job post writing course or say something snarky on Twitter or give away a LinkedIn profile rewrite…

Giving feels good right now, so that’s what we’re doing. Because I am the f*cking boss.
