ReferralPodcastHeader (1)-1.pngGood morning and Happy Monday,

Automation is the word on the tip of everyone’s tongue, which is probably why The Pew Research Center just released a report on the future of jobs and job training. In short, people will need to become more agile and adaptable, while also developing the cognitive and interpersonal skills that can’t be performed by machines. Sounds simple enough, until you read that entry-level lawyers are already in the crosshairs of some apps. Fortune, taking a more optimistic approach, is looking at the jobs that will be created by automation. One plus two minus four equals....nevermind.

Anyway, as the war for talent steamrolls onward, you can add accounting and cybersecurity to the list of skills with high demand and low supply. And with companies like Snapchat, YouTube, Truecar and many others now in the neighborhood, Silicon Beach recruiting in Los Angeles has become a beast unto itself.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg thinks the bubble is beginning to pop for tech unicorns, Tesla is expanding to Mexico and here are some great tools for busy recruiters (we might be one of them).

ERE takes a look at what we know so far about Google’s new job search platformIndeed talks to employers about coding bootcamps. Siftery pulled together a bunch of ATS pricing benchmarks. The Atlantic takes a deep dive into cognitive biases and the training designed to eliminate them. Fast Company wants you to ask yourself how emotionally intelligent your hiring process is. The New York Times wonders if we are at full employment but Seeking Alpha isn’t so sure.

And that's it for now. We'll see you next week.
