Top 3 Strategies to Improve Business Productivity

The subject of productivity is a hot topic since the pandemic hit the world. Due to COVID-19, we have seen many closedowns at almost all physical offices worldwide, and many employers are shifting to remote work. But if you allow your employees to work remotely, then take steps to ensure employee productivity during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In this blog post, I am sharing a few ways of setting a benchmark of success and productivity for your employees while working from home during this uncertain period.

1. Set Reasonable Working Hours: “Working from home can fall into two categories: either you’re so distracted that you get nothing done, or you get tunnel vision and don’t do anything [but work long hours],” said O’Neill.

I believe that requiring your team to work less might inspire them to produce more. Let your team sign off early on Friday’s or give them the flexibility to come in later Monday mornings. WFH-ers can take the benefits of being able to schedule meetings according to their suitability. In short, schedule your timing accordingly when you feel you are the most productive.

2. Find the Perfect Automated Tool for Your Team: With a need to excel during this critical time, automation has become a top priority for everyone. Introducing automation in the organization will provide an effective solution for recruiters to shortlist the candidates during the hiring process. The tools such as a resume parser can help recruiters to speed up their recruiting process. It helps recruiters to extract resumes/jobs data into their ATS/CRM quickly. It will bring a big difference to the workforce & allow employees and managers to stay on the same page while working from home.

3. Implement Continuous Improvement Approach: Improving productivity, especially in this critical time, is the most important activity. To set up a continuous improvement plan, managers can:

  1. Start assessing the best practices or benchmarking in your industry. This will help you develop your business plans.

  2. Get external help to assess your business weakness and strengths. It will help your organization to redesign the process which is not providing relevant results.

Small organizations never have enough time or money to do everything they want to do to grow. But I believe boosting productivity doesn’t require huge investments. It simply takes more effort, awareness from leaders and managers alike.
