Companies today need to be more agile than ever. With the slower hiring market, many are pivoting from external hiring to internal mobility. And with rapidly changing technology, many are trying to upskill their workforces as quickly as possible.

On February 15, LinkedIn Learning will launch the most anticipated industry report of the year: the 2023 Workplace Learning Report: Building the Agile Future, which sheds light on how learning and development (L&D) can create greater agility by putting people and skills at the center of a company’s success.

For the report, we surveyed more than a thousand learning leaders around the world to better understand trends, insights, and challenges in the learning industry today, including:

  • How L&D’s influence with the C-suite is evolving
  • What learning leaders expect from their budgets this year
  • How L&D is leveraging career development and internal mobility to increase employee engagement and improve retention
  • What the top focus areas for L&D are this year
  • What tips and insights global L&D leaders have for practitioners

“Learning is key to your resilience as a business,” says Cat Ward, vice president of Jobs for the Future, in the report. “If you invest in curiosity, learning, and agility for your workforce, you will be able to bounce back from setbacks, adapt to change, and be more ready for whatever comes next.”

That’s especially true right now, when skills are evolving so quickly. According to recent LinkedIn data, job skills have changed by about 25% since 2015 and are expected to change by 41% by 2025. L&D has never been in a better position to help.

Can’t wait until February 15 to start learning? We’ve unlocked an exclusive LinkedIn Learning course The Future of Work: The Necessary Skills for Your Future Workplace for you. In this course, Sophie Wade, a workforce innovation specialist, shares how you can keep your organization agile in times of change through digital business skills, human-centric skills, and new leadership skills.

In last year’s Workplace Learning Report, we predicted that “L&D’s time in the spotlight is just beginning.” This year, we believe that’s even more true. We look forward to sharing all of our insights with you on February 15. Until then, stay tuned...
