Prathima Srinivas was about to accept another job offer when she heard about Pluralsight, the leading technology workforce development organization.

“I considered giving it a chance due to its convenient proximity to my home,” she recalls. “But what truly impressed me during the interviews with Pluralsight were the values and culture displayed by all the interviewers. Having worked in various organizations in the past, I have come to realize over time and through experience that it is ultimately the values and culture of a company that determine our satisfaction and longevity.”

One year later, Prathima is now a senior engineering manager at Pluralsight, where she leverages two of these cultural pillars — collaboration and diversity — daily to advance the world’s technology workforce.

We caught up with Prathima to hear her take on how women are helping to shape the future of engineering at Pluralsight.

Women’s contributions at Pluralsight

Prathima’s team hails from various states across India.

“By embracing such diversity, we encourage the inclusion of different viewpoints and innovative ideas in our work,” she says. “We also prioritize fostering empathy, understanding cultural differences, and adapting our approach to accommodate the unique needs and experiences of our diverse team members.”

Pluralsight’s engineering organization has women represented across all levels, from vice presidents to developers — and the impact is clear.

“I have noticed that women often demonstrate heightened empathy and possess strong emotional intelligence. They genuinely care about others' opinions and strive to create equal opportunities for all team members,” says Prathima. She adds that she’s observed women with excellent organizational, communication, and adaptation skills.

“These women play crucial roles as decision-makers in shaping the technology roadmap, managing stakeholders, interacting with customers, overseeing multiple projects, providing leadership to their teams, serving as technical experts, and mentoring fellow team members,” she says. “Importantly, their decisions are empowered and highly regarded, reflecting the respect they receive within the organization.”

Upskilling for the future

Prathima also highlights how Pluralsight prioritizes women’s advancement. And in return, they see a high-functioning technology organization.

All team members receive a complimentary subscription to the Pluralsight Skills platform for tech upskilling, leadership training, mentorship, study groups, technical sessions, and specialized career planning training.

“Our aim is to assemble teams that not only possess diverse experiences but also bring forth innovative ideas, thus elevating Pluralsight’s products to new heights,” Prathima explains. “This collective expertise will inevitably drive engineering at Pluralsight in a fresh and transformative direction.”

Prathima has experienced “a steep learning curve in both technical and non-technical aspects” since joining the team, and she wouldn’t change a thing.

“I am genuinely thrilled to continue learning and making meaningful contributions to the growth of this exceptional company.”
