Are You Limiting Your Talent Pool By Not Offering A Remote Work Option?

The world and the corporate recruiting landscape have changed. Have you changed your talent acquisition strategy in response?

The coronavirus pandemic has taken an economic toll on the entire globe. Over 30 million people have lost their jobs in 2020 due to pandemic response measures to date. We are in the midst of an economic downfall, and companies need to start caring about the well-being and safety of their employees as well as their applicants more than ever in these unprecedented times.

Candidates and applicants are searching for a company that cares. But really, it’s more than that. By not evolving and offering employees a solution to work remotely, some companies may be at a standstill and limiting their talent resources. On the contrary, innovative corporations will continue to thrive due to their nature of being open to change previously and in these uncertain times.

Ultimately, both corporations and candidates need to be flexible and willing to adapt.

A remote work option is the answer for streamlining business. If a computer, software and a telephone are the only tools required to get the job done, then think about expanding your work-from-home options for employees in order to sustain, maintain and succeed far into the future.

Lessen Face Time And Concentrate On The Hard Numbers

If concerns over productivity have prevented your company from implementing a permanent remote work option in the past, rest assured that it becomes very clear who is hitting key performance indicators and who is not. Let the numbers show the individual results, and as a business owner, you will have access to better employees. Only the best and brightest employees can hit their KPIs remotely and consistently.

By offering remote work, companies open their doors to a plethora of candidates, including stars and A-players who are only willing to work remotely. Corporations can expect to increase ROI because, let’s face it, what star employee doesn’t want to lead, drive results and stay for the long term?

Once corporations analyze their security concerns and strategize a logical plan to change things up, I suspect that business owners will realize that offering remote work can grant access to unicorn potential hires.

Attract The Best Talent

With a pandemic at large, more and more candidates are demanding the option to work from home in order to even consider applying to your organization. Top candidates know their worth, and the progressive companies are those that end up winning the most coveted talent.

As a hiring manager, why limit the scope of your talent pool by geographical region when you can tap into the brightest candidates by broadening your search nationally?

A Healthier Workplace Is A More Productive Workplace

Furthermore, a new consideration has to be: Why would you risk your employees' health if their job can be done at home? It takes a quick search on Google to show the potential long-term effects of Covid-19, and the health and safety concerns of candidates who prefer to remain distanced should be taken seriously.

By revolutionizing your recruitment strategy to turn cold leads to warm leads, you will see your talent pool grow exponentially from embracing telecommuting arrangements. Remote work is the answer.

We are in an age of transformation. By utilizing the resources that we have, all business sectors can begin to work with safety and care at the forefront, while remaining flexible with the ever-evolving world that we live in.
