Oracle Overpays $1.9 Billion for Money Losing Taleo

It is losing money and market share, but that doesn’t count for much anymore. Taleo just sold itself for a cool $1.9 billion to Oracle. Some things need to be said about this. Suggestion for the developers: call your headhunter. There are a lot of great companies out there including mine that are looking to build great things, and they won’t be asking you to mate a fish with a bird.

A new survey of chief financial officers finds that most think it’s somewhat or very important to have a sense of humor if you want to fit in with their companies. The survey of 1,400 CFOs, conducted on behalf of staffing firm Accountemps, found that 57 percent think an employee’s sense of humor is somewhat important when it comes to fitting in with the company’s corporate culture.
