In today’s complex and often tumultuous environment, high emotional intelligence is one of the hallmarks of a great leader. By being emotionally aware, leaders can better engage their teams, communicate more effectively, enhance performance and increase retention. The term emotional intelligence has been around since the mid-80s, but became prominent in 1995 due to the work of Daniel Goleman. The other 80% is due to emotional intelligence (or EQ).
