ChatGPT has exploded onto the AI scene in recent weeks, leaving many recruiters wondering how, and if, they should be using this tool for recruitment marketing. I’ve been using an AI tool called Jasper for about 2 years and think it’s a really smart choice for recruiters. Both platforms use natural language processing to perform a variety of tasks and employ OpenAI, and both platforms are able to perform some of the same types of tasks. Here are a few things I have learned:
- Jasper is primarily a business-use tool, and it excels at copywriting, which is an important element of recruitment marketing. More specifically, it excels at tailoring copy and content for specific uses – blogs vs email copy vs headlines vs Google ads, for example. It has a chat module available, but that is not its primary purpose. ChatGPT, while it is certainly capable of content creation, has a much broader focus. It can be used for anything from answering simple questions to conducting research to writing code.
- Neither platform is a search engine. Queries that you pose must always be fact-checked for accuracy. ChatGPT is intended to allow more human-like interaction based on information that it learns. This is especially useful in a chatbot feature that guides website visitors through a sales or customer service funnel. It is having a conversation, not indexing web pages for search and retrieval.
- Jasper supports multiple languages; ChatGPT currently does not.
- ChatGPT offers a free version and a premium version at US $20/month. The premium version offers better access during peak usage times, along with faster response times, and is the only way to have access to GPT-4, the newest version of the OpenAI natural language system. Jasper is not free. The Starter plan is US $29/month and the premium “Boss Mode” version is US $59/month (discounted annually). Boss Mode includes many more features, more words, access to SEO tools, plagiarism checking and much more. I use Boss Mode and find that it is well worth the money.
If you’d like to get better at recruitment marketing while saving valuable time doing so, I believe Jasper is the clear winner. We are an affiliate partner. If you are looking for simple conversational queries, list-building or a chatbot installation, consider ChatGPT.
