Job brief

We are looking for a Mortician to join our team to work directly with clients and their funeral arrangements and perform necessary embalming services on deceased people. 

Mortician responsibilities include providing comfort to relatives of deceased, assisting with the transportation of the deceased to the funeral home and preparing the body before the funeral or other religious events. 

Ultimately, you will work with deceased bodies to oversee the preparation, dressing and embalming of deceased people before they are placed in a casket for funeral arrangements.

  • Embalm, dress, cosmetically enhance and casket deceased people
  • Obtain documents and permits related to embalming and funerals from various sources
  • Refer clients to reputable grief counselors
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and preparation room
  • Arrange flowers, religious leaders and pallbearers for funerary events

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Mortician or similar role
  • Proficient knowledge of various religions, cultures and customs
  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Ability to focus for extended periods
  • Associate’s degree in mortuary science or related field preferred
