Blue Octopus is celebrating today after picking up the Technical Innovation award at yesterday’s Onrec Awards 2023 in London.
The Onrec Awards, now in their 17th year, celebrate companies’ achievements in online recruitment. Blue Octopus first won an award in 2013, just three years after the company’s formation.
Blue Octopus’ successful evening at the Onrec Awards underscores the company’s dedication to innovation and excellence in the field of online recruitment. With this year’s win, Blue Octopus further solidifies its position at the forefront of the industry.
The centrepiece of the technical innovation recognised in the award is Octo’s new Marketplace feature. Within the system, users can seamlessly integrate with dozens of third-party functionalities and services, such as blind recruitment tools, candidate assessment software, e-signature solutions, SMS services, and identity verification. Moreover, Octo works seamlessly with the most widely used HR systems in the UK and boasts compatibility with numerous job boards. A notable distinction is that Octo does not charge for integrating third-party products and services, setting it apart from many other applicant tracking systems.
Blue Octopus had been shortlisted in three categories at the awards: Best Online Candidate Experience (in conjunction with not-for-profit housing association Stonewater), Personality of the Year for Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director Chris Coleman, and the Technical Innovation award.
