Today, we’re going to meet the amazing Torin Ellis. Torin is a renowned advisor, coach, consultant, and speaker in the area of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).
Q. Can you give us some background information about your experience and history within this field?
TE pairs its diversity talent management methodologies with a key understanding of today’s business challenges and opportunities — designing proprietary, advanced, data-driven, and high-impact talent and organizational strategies.
Q. What are you working on right now?
Developing technology that tracks the multiple dimensions of diversity – real time – connecting them to KPIs that matter to a business unit, department and/or team. A SaaS solution that validates the impact of DEIB.
Q. Can you give us a detailed overview of what your content covers?
Since 2018, my aim has always been to center the voices of others – positioning them to tell their own story. Within the missions, you’ll experience a range of energy and insights from persons across the globe of varied backgrounds showcasing why inclusion matters.
Q. Why is this an important topic of study right now?
Given the political and social headwinds, the topic of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) is under a more vocal assault. Legislation is being passed in North America and the ripple effect globally is that DEIB lowers the bar, weakens organizations, and in some ways is reverse discrimination – all of which are untrue. It is good to engage with honest brokers and voices, such as those on the SocialTalent platform.
Q. What do you hope learners will gain from doing your missions?
What problems does it solve? You will gain a broader, more sensitive awareness to the need for D&I. That in pursuing such intentionally, one is making their business, department, team and/or unit stronger. I want people to experience my content and enjoy the chase of Greater Humanity.
