A Sneak Peek Into #GDSummit!

This Friday, Glassdoor is hosting our second annual Employer Branding Summit in San Francisco. The event sold out back in April, but don’t cry - we’re streaming the event live to a global audience for free! Register here to pop in and out throughout the day beginning at 7am PST/10am EST and get access to all the great video content after the event. We’ll be taking questions from the live stream all day via #GDSummit, too, so expect lots of interaction between the audience in San Francisco and everyone tuning in virtually!

So who do we have presenting this year? We’ve got Zillow Group CEO Spencer Rascoff kicking things off and then sitting down at a fireside chat with Glassdoor CEO Robert Hohman. Lars Schmidt returns for the second year in a row as our Summit MC, with Kris Dunn and Tim Sackett hosting the live stream with speaker interviews, Q&A from the virtual audience and general shenanigans. Employer Branding and Talent Acquisition experts from Salesforce, Edelman PR, Oracle, Enterprise, and Dell will share their best practices throughout the day, industry influencers Stacy Zapar, JT O’Donnell, and Richard Mosley will weigh in, and leading analysts Josh Bersin, William Tincup and Madeline Laurano will discuss the state of employer branding today and trends for the future.

I’m lucky enough to share the stage with Rob Reid from Intacct, the highest rated CEO on Glassdoor last year, and employer branding guru Celinda Appleby who’s done  amazing things as the Head of Global Recruitment Branding at Oracle. We’ll be presenting The Transparent Organization: 30 Tips in 30 Minutes, which will include transparent leadership strategies, employer branding tactics and stats + stories from the field to help your company lead from the front in this age of transparency.

Rob and Celinda have leadership strategies and employer branding tips covered, but I’ll be talking about how transparency and trust have impacted the way companies do business. Here’s a sneak peek:

1. It all begins with trust. Did you know that two-thirds of consumers (63%) refuse to buy from companies they don’t trust? Or that 32% of senior executives say building trust is one of their biggest challenges, second only to expansion and top line growth over the next one to two years? If you don’t have the trust of your consumers, how will you build trust with employees and candidates?

2. What content is the most trusted? Seventy-two percent of people say that content provided by friends and family is still the most trusted source of information regarding their perception of a brand. And, even more interesting, content provided by employees comes in second at 52%. In the same study, employees ranked among the most trusted influencers when communicating about their company’s engagement and integrity. Moral of the story? Empower your employees to be brand evangelists, because that’s who people trust!

3. Top talent demands transparency. Ninety-six percent of job seekers say it’s important to them to work for a company that embraces transparency. Stay alert while watching the #GDSummit to learn quick and easy strategies to get your organization on board.

Will see you all on Friday at #GDSummit, streaming live from San Francisco! Register now.
